General Information:

The Laboratory of Phytopathology is one of the oldest laboratories founded by the reconstitution of Athens College of Agriculturein 1943. The laboratory is locatedin the first floor of the central building of Administration and includes four rooms for laboratorial research, two rooms forteaching, room for compounds andmaterials and offices of administration. 

Additional researchand instructive work is provided in a field of Laboratory and in two glass air-conditioned greenhouses that are locatedby the entry of pomology fields.

  • Biological control of plant diseases.
  • Control of vascular wilts with Bacillus.
  • Control of Botrytis cinerea by epiphytic yeasts.
  • Vascular wilts (control).
  • Soil solarization theory and application.
  • Induced resistance to plant diseases.
  • Virus diseases of vegetables and fruit trees.
  • Plant virus epidemiology and control.
  • Cucumber mosaic virus.
  • Study of fungicidal activity: mechanism of action and biological activity.
  • Resistance of plant pathogens to antimicrobial substances: biochemical  mechanism and genetic control.
