Dr Ioannis E. Papadakis has received his PhD in Pomology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2004. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor in Agricultural University of Athens (Greece). He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Lecturer of Pomology at Agricultural University of Athens from 2010 until 2015. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences (Associate Editor), Agrotechnology (Editor-in Chief), Open Access Journal of Agricultural Research, Journal of Agronomy and Agricultural Aspects, American Journal of Agricultural Research, Research & Reviews: Journal of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Open Journal of Agricultural Science (Associate Editor), Modern Concepts & Developments in Agronomy (Associate Editor), Innovative Techniques in Agriculture (Scientia Ricerca), JOJ Horticulture & Arboriculture, Frontiers in Plant Science - Plant Nutrition (Review Editor), Forte Journal of Agriculture, and International Journal of Plant Science and Horticulture. He has authored more than 60 research articles published in peer-reviewed journals and more than 40 full research articles published in conference proceedings in English or Greek language and 25 abstracts in both international and national (Greek) conferences (14 of which have been submitted but not published yet). His papers have been cited more than 975 times. He is a member of International Society for Horticultural Science, Geotechnical Chamber of Greece, Greek Society for Horticultural Science, and Hellenic Scientific Society for Genetics and Plant Breeding. He has acted as a reviewer of more than 39 reputed journals like Environmental and Experimental Botany, Plant Cell Reports, Protoplasma, Frontiers in Plant Science, Scientia Horticulturae, Annals of Applied Biology, Functional Plant Biology, HortScience, Experimental Agriculture, Photosynthetica, Ecological Indicators, Plant Biology, Journal of Hazardous Materials and Scientific Reports, and Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology. He has acted as a member of Organizing or Scientific/Technical Committees of 3 Greek Conferences as well as 7 international ones: 5th International Conference on Food and Agricultural Sciences (ICFAS 2017), 2nd World Congress & Expo on Biotechnology and Bioengineering, International Joint Conference on Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (JCABE 2018), 6th International Conference on Food and Agricultural Sciences (ICFAS 2018), International Conference on Plant Science (Plant Science 2018), International Scientific and Practical Distant Conference (2019), and 28th Symposium of the International Scientific Centre for Fertilizers (CIEC). His research interests are t and toxicities he following: (i) Plant nutrition and fertilization, (ii) Abiotic stresses (nutrient deficiencies, drought, salinity, waterlogging, etc.), (iii) Sexual and asexual propagation of fruit tree species, (iv) Evaluation of fruit tree cultivars and rootstock, and (v) Effect of various cultural practices on tree yield and fruit quality.

Participation as the main researcher with the academic responsibility as the representative of the Laboratory of Pomology.

Research program: Breeding apple tree varieties adapted to the Greek conditions with significant agronomical features, funded by: Ministry of Rural Development and Food. Duration 60 months (awaiting for the beginning of the formal start of its implementation). Participation as a researcher.

Educational program: “Triptolemos 2014”, “Triptolemos 2015”, “Triptolemos 2016”, ”Triptolemos 2017”, “Triptolemos 2018”. Related to short term educational seminars for young people aged between 24- 40, funded by: Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.
