Personal Info

Graduate with honours from the Agricultural University of Athens, while he received honoured scholarships (4 years) from State Scholarships foundation for his B.Sc. and M.Sc. achievements. He received his Ph.D. from Agricultural University of Athens in 2005. Worked as a Weed Researcher in Laboratory of Integrated Weed Management of Benaki Phytopathological Institute (2007-2010), while in parallel held the position of Assistant Professor of Technological Educational Institute of Epirus / Agricultural Technology (2008-2011). Visitor Professor at University of Ioannina (postgraduate program entitled: Agrochemistry and Organic agriculture) during 2007-2008 and 2010-1011. Elected University Lecturer since 2010 and Assistant Professor since 2016 in the Faculty of Crop Science in Agricultural University of Athens.

 

Research interests:

 

  • Arable crops and their competition relations with weeds
  • Plant water relations, water stress-effects and drought adaptation mechanisms of crops
  • Study of biology and herbicide resistance of several weeds and integrated weed management practices
  • Selectivity of herbicides and evaluation of several weed control practices
  • New crops, aromatic and medicinal plants, local landraces

 

Author of more than 40 papers published in peer reviewed scientific journals, 4 chapters published in international books (invited), and more than 40 announcements in international and local conferences.

 

Reviewer of more than 50 manuscripts submitted in several international journals (among them in: Weed Science, Crop Protection, Crop Science, Journal of Arid Environments, Weed Technology etc)
