Seed development on the mother plant. Environmental effects on seed development and quality. Seed dormancy (types of dormancy, growth regulator effects, seasonal and environmentally-induced dormancy, seed dormancy breaking methods). Seed vigour and storage effects (influence of endogenous factors on seed viability and vigour, evaluation of seedling vigour). Seed germination (germination process, soil environment and germination, seed treatments and priming).

Seed technology

Planning of seed production and harvesting. Seed drying and treatments. Storage and packing. Seed quality assessment.
