Course: General and Systematic Agricultural Entomology
Course description:
1. Introduction (economic importance, sub-disciplines of entomology).
2. Morphology-anatomy-physiology (Tegument, and organic systems. Metamorphosis of insects).
3. Systematic entomology (morphology, biology and identification of orders with agricultural importance: Collembola, Isoptera, Blattaria, Orthoptera, Thysanoptera, Heteroptera, Homoptera, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Anoplura, Mallophaga, Siphonaptera).
4. Biology, ecology and control (chemical, biological and other) of some main insect pests of cultivated plants.
